Eliminate Spyware & Speed Up Your PC

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Spyware Can Slow Down & Harm Your PCAlthough the wired world complains most loudly about spam and pop-up ads, spyware is easily the most insidious outgrowth of the Internet age.

Spyware is software that a Web page or an application installs on your computer, usually without your permission.

Once installed it might do anything from changing your Web browser’s home page to activating annoying pop-up windows to tracking your online surfing and shopping patterns and then sending that information to any marketer or advertiser who wants to buy it.

Not surprisingly, spyware slows down your system (especially as it accumulates), and if you spend even a few hours a week on the Web it accumulates pretty quickly.

Did you know that there currently exist well over 250,000+ different types of spyware & viruses that your computer could be infected with…and even more of these annoying and dangerous programs are being created daily!

Manual removal of spyware can be done successfully, but is very time consuming, and really not worth the effort if you have access to a utility that will eliminate all forms of spyware for you automatically, and in under 5 minutes…

Fortunately, that program exists! Paretologic’s Anti-Spyware can rid you of the spyware menace in a few minutes. Anti-Spyware scans scans & monitors your system for spyware in Real-Time! Paretologic Anti-Spyware removes all forms of Spyware and inoculates your system against it forever; regular updates let you blitz new spyware as it is introduced.

Once you try Paretologix Anti-Spyware, you’ll wonder why you waited so long to install a good spyware remover.

Paretologic anti-spyware offers a free initial scan of your PC, and you can get that download at the following link:

Windows XP Speed Tweak: Do Some DMA Testing

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Direct memory access, or DMA, is a Windows technology that lets your hard drive read information from memory, or RAM, without first passing the information through your computer’s CPU (your Pentium, Celeron, or Athlon chip for example).

By making sure DMA is activated, you can be sure that any disk-intensive process (such as working with a database, burning CDs, backing up a hard drive) runs as quickly as your system will allow.

To activate DMA in Win98 or WinMe, right-click the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select properties from the context menu. Click the Device Manager tab; in the list click the plus sign (+) next to Disk Drives, then click your hard drive, and click the Properties button. Click the Settings tab. If the DMA box does not
have a checkmark, select it now. If it is grayed out, your computer does not support the technology.

In Windows 2000 or WinXP, right-click My Computer and select Properties; click the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button. In the list click the plus sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers; then right-click Primary IDE Channel and select Properties. Click the Advanced Settings tab; under Transfer Mode set both Device 0 and Device 1 to DMA if available, and click OK. When you are done, restart your computer.

Don’t forget! The easiest way to optimize & Speed Up Your PC on autopilot is by downloading and running the free RegCure registry cleaner scan for your PC…do it

Windows XP Speed Tweak: Clean out the Prefetch folder

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Windows XP uses a system folder called ‘prefetch’ to organize and preload data necessary for some of your commonly used software applications.

After many months of use, the prefetch folder can become large and bloated with older references to software and system files that may no longer be in use.

It’s a good idea to manually empty the older files out of the prefetch folder every few months or so. To do this:

Open your windows explorer and go to ‘c:\windows\prefetch’ and simply delete all .PF files that are older than a couple of weeks.

If your PC is still running slow after applying the several tweaks we have shown you thus far, and you spend any amount of time online, then you very well could have spyware that has installed itself on your computer without your knowledge!

Spyware is not only a danger to your personal data and identity, but can bring a fast computer to a slow crawl…A good spyware remover is one of the critical tools you should have in your PC Utility software arsenal (along with a good registry cleaner), and one we recently tested that protects your computer in REAL time is Paretologic’s Anti-Spyware program.

Find out if you have Spyware running on your PC today! You can download Paretologic’s Free Spyware Scan at the following link:
